Founders Story

Believe it or not, my working life actually began behind a jewellery counter.

My very first job was in a local jewellery store.  Who would have guessed that decades later, my career would come full circle and bring me right back to where I started.

Between then and now, I spent 27 years living abroad — I founded a disaster relief non-profit in SE Asia, managed a foundation for refugees in the Middle East, and even ran an adventure tour company in Sumatra! —  Eventually I returned to Australia where I ran my own floristry business for over a decade.

So, when people ask how I ended up launching a jewellery brand, the honest answer, like most things in my life is  —  "I didn’t exactly plan it."

It really started from a moment of pure frustration.

I was standing in front of the mirror trying — and failing — to get a necklace on.  My partner wasn’t home to help, and as I struggled with that tiny, fiddly clasp, I thought, "Who actually designed these things?"

I knew there had to be a better way but I couldn't find what I was looking for.  So I decided to create it myself.

I'd discovered jewellery with magnetic clasps but they often felt a bit dated or clunky.  I wanted something different — pieces that were modern, designed for everyday wear with an easy clasp that didn't require a second pair of hands.

So that's how I found myself back in the world of jewellery — this time, with a mission to make getting ready just a little bit easier.
