Freshwater pearls are a natural gemstone — beautiful, and a little more delicate than the PVD gold finished hardware. The good news is that caring for them is simple.
Put your pearls on last — after perfume, hairspray, and skincare. Take them off first. A quick wipe with a soft cloth when you remove them is all the daily care they need.
Avoid direct contact chemicals and chlorinated water. For deep cleaning, a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water is all you need — never soak a strand of pearls it can weaken the string, let them dry flat.
Store your pearls in the soft pouch they arrive in, flat and separately from other jewellery. Harder stones and metal clasps can scratch the surface of the pearl over time.
One more thing — wear them. Pearls actually benefit from regular wear. The skin's natural moisture helps maintain their lustre. A pearl left in a drawer is a pearl slowly losing its shine.
