Waterproof, tarnish-resistant, and hypoallergenic.

 

PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition — gold particles bonded to stainless steel at a molecular level. Significantly harder and more durable than traditional gold plating. 

 

PVD gold is waterproof. Gold vermeil is not. You can shower in Avean jewellery. You shouldn't shower in most other gold-plated pieces.

 

Care Instructions

Hardware

The 14kt PVD gold finish is waterproof and sweat-resistant. You can shower, swim in fresh water, and exercise wearing Avean pieces without concern. No special care needed.

 

Pearls
Put your pearls on last — after perfume, hairspray, and skincare. Take them off first.

 

A soft cloth wipe when you remove them is all the daily care they need. Avoid direct contact with perfume and chlorinated water. Store flat in the soft pouch they arrive in, separately from other jewellery.
 

Wear them. Pearls actually benefit from regular wear — the skin's natural moisture helps maintain their lustre. A pearl left in a drawer is a pearl slowly losing its shine.

The OneTouch™ clasp uses a small magnet. If you wear a pacemaker or any implanted medical device, please consult your doctor before wearing magnetic jewellery.
